I’m currently sitting in the sun outside a little house in Wexford in the South of Ireland. It’s known as The Sunny South East which is true for a country that rains a lot. It also gets a good bit of sun all year round. However, I will warn those of you from boiling hot countries like Australia that you would probably need to wrap up as it is still Ireland which is known for being quite cool. This is especially true since we are an island 🏝️ as well a country and so we get a lot of sea breezes. I still recommend visiting, just pop over during the summer months or spring in April or early summer because it’s warmer. Our summers are also starting to become more wet with a lot of rain in July. One July two years ago it didn’t stop raining day or night except for three days when I happened to be in County Sligo on the West of Ireland.

I’ve been needing a break from Dublin for quite some time now even though I was in London visiting my cousin, Bob at the end of March. I really struggle with my mental health including depression and my God my depression has floored me since the end of May. So is nice to get away.

Ronan has a nice little holiday home that he bought over 20 years ago and I believe the mortgage is paid off years now which is really handy. I believe celebrities visit the village we are staying in although I’ve never met any. But Ronan has met P!nk and The Edge from U2 along with a number of others when they were taking a break from touring a number of years ago. I’d love to meet P!nk. She’s one of my fave music artists of the 00s. I grew up listening to her music with my friends.

i arrived last night after missing my train from Connolly station. I was in time but my bus journey which normally only takes 15 minutes took nearly an hour. What I didn’t realise was that there was a protest in Dublin City Centre that afternoon which a backup of traffic on the way. I was raging because my mam was going to collect me from Wexford train station at 4:30 and we were going to go shopping. But these things happen, tis life.

I’m looking forward to the next few days because there is a music festival on over the weekend. The three of us will be going to see a Spanish guitar concert after watching some football in the local pub for the afternoon.
