A Letter to Scorpio

Dear Scorpio’s,

I see you. I see your depth. I see your pain. I see the insecurities you bury deep down inside. I see your beauty. I see the suffering you project in your occasional vengeful behavior.

I ask that you don’t succumb to the darkness that is the hurt you feel, have felt or will feel. I ask this because I understand that Pluto asks us all to evolve and be reborn over time. I say all of us, because Pluto is in all of our natal charts in a particular house with various aspects (mine is in my 6th house of Scorpio) so I suppose you can call me a plutonian as my Pluto is inconjunct my sun and mercury in my 12th house.

I understand the deep journeys you guys dive into throughout your lives as I have also had to explore Hades (the underworld) or rather my undercurrents that includes the watery depths of Pisces (12th house sun and mercury).

I view my desire for revenge and yes I’ve gotten revenge on one person in my life possibly two as a lesson. This vengeful behavior stemmed from internal suffering, however in the last ten years after experiencing severe bullying I have realised that vengeance isn’t worth it. It just adds to the cycle of pain.

So I ask you, when you are ready, step off the wheel of suffering. The first step is to acknowledge your own pain. But also the past pain that may go as far back as childhood and unhealed trauma. Cry, scream into pillows, dance and sing your sadness and pain out of you.

You are more than a Scorpio. There is more than one symbol for your astrological sign. The first totem is, as you may have guessed, a scorpion poised for attack. The second is a snake or a serpent ready to shed its dead skin and continue to evolve and be reborn. The third is the eagle, a protector but also a predator who only attacks when it is hungry, similar to that of a lawyer, army veterans and emergency workers like ambulance staff and firefighters. Fourth is the Phoenix which sets itself ablaze and experiences  of a rebirth akin to that of a spiritual death and is reborn. The last totem is the dove or the peace keeper.

Embrace these changes within you. I have learned that true power never stems from anger or vengeance. No, instead it comes from compassion, empathy, understanding. The embracing of every truth of everyone’s experience as valid. Perhaps you have learned this harsh lesson as well.

So my dear Scorpio’s, I invite you to see that, yes you are deeply emotional, Spiritual and powerful. But we must all learn to use these talents for good.

Often times the vengeance I experienced were from a lot of people who didn’t understand my communication difficulties or differences (neither did I mind you, what with being diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome after I had graduated from college).

I’m sure many of you (and other star signs) already understand that the majority of the time people aren’t trying to be hurtful or inflict injury. They are human and like everyone on this planet, are imperfect.

Focus on your own evolution before you get a revenge that is so serious you end up stinging yourself to death, which believe it or not, the scorpion insect does when in highly hostile environments and gets confused and alarmed thus stings itself to oblivion..Not that this is what will happen to you, highly unlikely. But you could end up punishing yourself to the point of no return and causing yourself extreme health conditions.

You don’t deserve any of these self afflicted injuries. So I ask you, please. Forget about retribution and focus on spiritual growth as you can soar to such spiritual heights that many religious scholars could only dream of.
